PIXXELPOINT2008: FOR GOD'S SAKE!
25/07/08 - I'm pleased to announce that I have been invited to curate this year's edition of Pixxelpoint, a small but brave festival taking place in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. This year's headline is: FOR GOD'S SAKE! How the media change the way we imagine / represent / honour / curse the divinity. Artist's from all the world are invited to submit projects according to the concept and the conditions described in the call for artists. APPLY, APPLY, APPLY!
Sono lieto di annunciare di essere stato invitato a curare l'edizione di quest'anno di Pixxelpoint, un piccolo ma coraggioso festival che si svolge ogni anno a Nova Gorica, in Slovenia. Il tema di quest'anno è: FOR GOD'S SAKE! How the media change the way we imagine / represent / honour / curse the divinity. Artisti di tutto il mondo sono invitati a sottoporre progetti che rispettino il concept e le condizioni descritte nel call for artists. RISPONDETE NUMEROSI!

LECTURE: FUTUROPRESENTE
05/05/08 - Tomorrow (May 06, 7 PM) I will have a lecture in Rovereto, at MART Contemporary Art Museum, in the context of FUTURO PRESENTE. Festival delle arti contemporanee (Rovereto, May 5-10, 2008). I will talk about "Net Practices in the Age of Web 2.0: from folksonomies to virtual worlds". Here is my presentation (pdf, 1.3 MB). The festival is quite gorgeous, featuring, among the others, William Forsythe, Joshua Davis, Klaus Obermaier, Studio Azzurro, Ryoji Ikeda, Christian Fennesz, Mouse on Mars... See you there!

EXHIBITION: HOLY FIRE. ART OF THE DIGITAL AGE
26/03/08 - On April 18, 2008, at iMAL Center for Digital Cultures and Technology (Bruxelles, BE) will open a collective exhibition I co-curated with Yves Bernard, iMAL's Director. With 27 artists and 8 participating galleries, HOLY FIRE. Art of the Digital Age will be the first New Media Art exhibition featuring only collectible works coming from private galleries and collectors. And my last new media art exhibition, by the way... The show will be part of the off program of ArtBrussels, one of the most important European contemporary art fairs, which will feature a debate (moderated by Patrick Lichty) on Saturday 19. A catalogue will be published.
Il 18 aprile 2008 inaugura a Bruxelles (BE), presso l'iMAL Center for Digital Cultures and Technology, una mostra collettiva da me curata con Yves Bernard, Direttore dell'iMAL. Con 27 artisti e 8 gallerie coinvolte, HOLY FIRE. Art of the Digital Age sarà la prima mostra di New Media Art a presentare solo lavori collezionabili prestati da gallerie e collezioni private. E la mia ultima mostra di new media art, tra parentesi. La mostra fa parte dell'off program di ArtBrussels, una delle maggiori fiere europee di arte contemporanea, la quale ospiterà anche un dibattito (moderato da Patrick Lichty) sabato 19 aprile. Sarò pubblicato un catalogo.

BOOK: GAZIRA BABELI
20/03/08 - On Saturday, March 15, Fabio Paris Art Gallery opened the show Gazira Babeli, the first "real life" solo exhibition of the Second Life "code-performer" Gazira Babeli.
On occasion of the exhibition the gallery published the book Gazira Babeli, edited by me (with texts by Mario Gerosa, Patrick Lichty, Alan Sondheim and myself). The book is the second shot of a new editorial label, FPEditions.
The exhibition was a real success, both in RL and SL (where Gaz organized a crazy party-performance). See my blog for updates. Both the show and the book got a lot of attention, as demonstrated, by now, by this beautiful article by Alessandra C (La Stampa Web, Italian only) and by this interview by Matteo Bittanti (Videoludica.com, Italian only). More press tips in the press section.
Sabato 15 marzo, la Fabio Paris Art Gallery ha inaugurato la mostra Gazira Babeli, la prima personale in "real life" di Gazira Babeli. In occasione della mostra la galleria ha pubblicato il libro Gazira Babeli, curato da me (con testi di Mario Gerosa, Patrick Lichty, Alan Sondheim e miei). Il libro è il secondo prodotto di una nuova iniziativa editoriale, FPEditions.
La mostra è stata un vero successo, sia in RL che in SL (dove Gaz ha organizzato una folle festa-performance, seguita in tempo reale dalla galleria). (maggiori informazioni sul mio blog). Libro e mostra hanno suscitato immediata attenzione, come dimostrano questo bell'articolo di Alessandra C (pubblicato su La Stampa Web), e l'intervista che mi ha fatto Matteo Bittanti per Videoludica.com. BOOK: GAMERS
13/01/08 - On Saturday, January 19, Fabio Paris Art Gallery will open the show Todd Deutsch: Gamers, the first solo exhibition of the minnesotan photographer Todd Deutsch.
On occasion of the exhibition the gallery will publish the book Gamers, edited by me (with a text by George Slade, one by me and an interview with the artist). The book is the first offspring of a new editorial label, FPEditions.
Sabato 19 gennaio, presso la Fabio Paris Art Gallery, aprirà la mostra Todd Deutsch: Gamers, prima personale del fotografo americano Todd Deutsch.
